Quick answer

Linktree for business is a free or paid page that holds all your links behind one bio link. As of October 2026, it costs $0, $7, $14 or $30 a month on yearly billing, and it can't use your own domain. If you already have a website, a /links page there is often better.

Most social apps give you a small spot for links in your profile. Linktree fills that spot with a list of buttons. Its pricing page lists a $0 plan marked "Free with restrictions" (vendor page, as of October 2026).

On October 22, 2026, we checked Linktree's US prices and built a tracked bio link in our own UTM builder. This guide covers setup, real costs, tracking and the US rules most guides skip.

Key takeaways

  • Linktree's pricing page lists 4 plans: Free, Starter $7, Pro $14 and Premium $30 a month, billed yearly (as of October 2026).
  • Linktree's custom domains help page says it doesn't support custom domains. Your page always lives at linktr.ee/yourname.
  • Instagram lets you add up to 5 links to your profile, so a business with 2 or 3 key links may not need a tool.
  • Tag every bio link with utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign, as Google's UTM help page says. Without them, Google Analytics 4 (GA4) can't tell Instagram from TikTok.
  • Affiliate links need a disclosure at the link (FTC), email sign-ups bring CAN-SPAM duties, and promo texts need written consent (FCC).

What is Linktree, and does your business need it?

Linktree is a one-page list of buttons that sits behind your bio link. You don't need one unless you've got more links to share than your social profiles allow. A visitor taps your bio, lands on the list, then taps "Book," "Menu" or "Call."

Before you sign up, check what the app already gives you. Instagram's help center says you can add up to 5 websites to your profile. If you only need a booking page and a menu, that may be enough.

One naming catch: Linktree also sells a product called Linktree for Business. That one helps marketers find and partner with creators. It is not the link page a local shop needs, and this guide doesn't cover it.

A link page is one small part of your social plan. Our social media marketing strategy guide covers the rest, from goals to posting rhythm. Whichever link tool you pick, check the rest of your profile with our social media profile optimization checklist.

How much does Linktree cost for a business?

Linktree costs $0, $7, $14 or $30 a month on yearly billing, as of October 2026, per Linktree's US pricing page. Paid monthly, the paid plans cost $9, $17 or $35. Prices are the vendor's own and may change, so check the page before you buy.

Plan (vendor: Linktree)Per month, billed yearlyPer month, billed monthlyWhat it adds
Free$0$0Unlimited basic links, email and phone sign-ups
Starter$7$9Unlimited featured links, basic analytics
Pro$14$17Removes Linktree branding, custom designs, mailing list integrations
Premium$30$35Link rules, all-time analytics, data export, social scheduling

We worked out the yearly cost from those prices, as of October 2026. Starter is $84 a year on yearly billing or $108 paid monthly, and Pro is $168 or $204. Premium is $360 or $420, and Pro and Premium come with a 7-day free trial.

Selling through the page adds fees. Pro and Premium list "Sell and earn with 0% fees" on the pricing page. Linktree's fees help page adds that Stripe charges 2.9% + $0.30 per purchase on every plan (as of October 2026).

For Free and Starter, the same help page gives no number. It says only that Linktree's own transaction fee depends on your plan. The pricing page FAQ also lists a USD $0.25 charge per payout. The fees help page calls that $0.25 a Stripe fee on partner earnings, as of October 2026.

Is Linktree free, and what does the free plan leave out?

Yes, Linktree has a free plan, but its plan list labels it "Free with restrictions," as of October 2026. Free keeps the Linktree logo on your page, because the pricing table above lists branding removal under Pro. Unlimited featured links start on Starter.

Free also keeps less history. Linktree's Insights help page says Free shows the last 28 days, Starter 90 days, Pro 365 days and Premium all time.

Our take: start on Free. Pay for Pro only if the Linktree logo bothers you or you sell digital products there.

How to set up Linktree for your business

These steps follow Linktree's own setup guide, with business choices added at each step.

Set up Linktree for a small business

About 20 minutes
  1. Sign up Go to linktr.ee/register, or use the Linktree app for iPhone or Android.
  2. Use a business email Pick an inbox you and a backup person both check. Receipts and sign-up alerts go there.
  3. Choose the username Your username becomes linktr.ee/yourname. Match the name on your Instagram and Google profile. Our brand name guide helps if you are still choosing.
  4. Pick a plan Start on Free. You can upgrade later without making a new page.
  5. Add 4 to 6 links, best first Put the one action you want most at the top: order, book or call. Then add directions, your current offer and a review link. Our guide to getting more customer reviews shows where that review link should point.
  6. Add your logo and colors Use the same logo, colors and short bio line as your other profiles, so visitors know they are in the right place. If you haven't settled those yet, our branding strategy guide covers the logo, colors and voice in 9 steps.
  7. Paste the link everywhere Add it to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and your email signature. For flyers and the shop counter, turn it into a code with our free QR code generator. Linktree also makes one under Share, then My Linktree QR code.

On Instagram, the path is Edit profile, then Links, then Add external link, per Instagram's steps.

Can a business run more than one Linktree?

Yes. Linktree's help page on multiple Linktrees says one login can run several, each with its own username and plan. That suits a business with 2 locations or 2 brands. Each one then gets its own page, so customers don't mix them up.

To let a staff member edit the page, Linktree's admin help page says you can invite an admin on Premium. Admins get full access to the design, Insights and links.

Agencies and large teams can ask about Linktree's Agency + Enterprise option, which runs many profiles from one dashboard. The pricing page lists no price for it, only a "Get in touch" button.

Add UTM tags to every link on your link page, then read the visits in Google Analytics 4 (GA4). Google's URL builder help page says to always use utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign. Without them, Google says reports show (not set) values, so you can't tell which app sent the visit.

Use one source name per platform, such as instagram or tiktok. Keep every value lowercase, because Google says values are case sensitive. "Instagram" and "instagram" would show as 2 different sources.

We built our example bakery's cake link in our free UTM builder on October 22, 2026. We picked the Instagram bio preset, set the campaign to link_in_bio and kept the medium as social.

Screenshot of the DigitalTreed UTM builder with an Instagram bio link tagged instagram, social and link_in_bio, filed by GA4 under Organic SocialScreenshot: our UTM builder with the example bakery link, October 22, 2026.

The tool showed that GA4 files this link under Organic Social. That matches Google's default channel rules, which put medium "social" in that channel. Make a second copy with source tiktok for your TikTok bio.

After 2 to 4 weeks, open GA4, go to Reports, then Acquisition, then Traffic acquisition. Our Google Analytics 4 guide walks through that report. The same tags work on story link stickers, as in our Instagram Story ideas for business.

What do Linktree's own analytics show?

Linktree has its own Insights page too. Its Insights help page lists views, clicks, click rate, subscribers and traffic sources. It also shows your most clicked links. Visitor locations and devices appear once you pass 100 unique visitors in 90 days.

How far back you can look depends on the plan: 28 days on Free, 90 on Starter, 365 on Pro and all time on Premium. The same page says only Premium can download Insights as a CSV file.

Our take: Insights tells you which button got the tap. GA4, with UTM tags, tells you what that visitor did next on your site, such as booking or buying. Use both. The same goes for your Facebook Page button; our guide to the Facebook Page action button shows how to tag it.

If you already have a website, often yes, because a /links page there keeps visitors on your own domain. Linktree's help center says it "doesn't support custom domains." Every Linktree page stays at linktr.ee/yourname, on every plan, so it's never your own address.

A page such as yourbusiness.com/links keeps visitors on your own site. It uses your own GA4, your own design and no outside branding. If you move away from Linktree later, your bio link doesn't change.

Cost, as of October 2026: a page on a site you already run costs $0 extra beyond setup time. Carrd's Pro Standard plan is $19 a year with custom domains, for a business with no site yet. Linktree Pro on yearly billing is $168 a year.

Our take: with no website yet, Linktree Free is a fine start. Already have one? Build the /links page there.

  • Keep it short: a logo, one line about you and 4 to 6 big buttons.
  • Make it fast on phones. Test it with our free website speed test.
  • Use the same UTM tags as above on any button that leaves your site.
  • On WordPress, a plain page with button blocks is enough. Our WordPress website guide covers pages and blocks.

If you'd rather not build it yourself, our web development team can add a fast, tracked links page to your site. (DigitalTreed sells this service.)

Linktree alternatives for business, compared

Linktree's main alternatives for a business are Beacons, Carrd, Instagram's own profile links and a /links page on your own site. They differ most on price, your own domain and fees on sales. We read each vendor's pricing page on October 22, 2026, and rechecked Beacons and Carrd on October 25, 2026. Prices are the vendors' own.

Carrd Pro Standard (vendor)$19/yearYesPayment forms, no store

Beacons' plans page lists a free forever plan and a 9% commission on sales on its Free and Creator plans (as of October 2026). Carrd has payment forms but no store, so it suits a business that sells elsewhere.

A link page is marketing, so US advertising rules apply to it like any other ad. These 3 come up most often. Paid or affiliate links need an FTC disclosure, email sign-ups bring CAN-SPAM duties and promo texts need written consent under FCC rules.

  • Affiliate or sponsored links: the FTC's Disclosures 101 guide says a profile-only disclosure is likely to be missed. If a button earns you a commission, put "Paid link" next to it; our guide on how to use affiliate links quotes the FTC's wording. Label the link itself, for example "Paid partner."
  • Email sign-ups: each marketing email needs your postal address and a clear way to opt out. The FTC's CAN-SPAM guide lists penalties of up to $53,088 per email, as of October 2026.
  • Phone sign-ups for texts: the FCC's robotext guide says "Commercial texts require written consent." The rule covers texts sent by an autodialer, so add a checkbox that says you will text offers.

This is general information, not legal advice; check with an attorney for your situation.

Example: a Tucson bakery picks its setup

Example (fictional): Saguaro Street Bakery is a 2-person bakery in Tucson, Arizona. It posts on Instagram and TikTok and takes custom cake orders on its website.

Option A is Linktree Pro on yearly billing: $14 x 12 = $168 a year, as of October 2026, per Linktree's plan prices. Option B is a /links page on its own site for $0 extra. The bakery picks B, because it already pays for its website.

Its 5 buttons are Order a custom cake, Today's menu, Directions, Leave a Google review and Join our email list. The review button points to its Google profile, which our local SEO guide explains.

Say it later sells a $25 cake decorating guide. Through Linktree Pro, Stripe would take 2.9% of $25 plus $0.30, or about $1.03 per sale as of October 2026, per Linktree's fee page. On Beacons Free, the 9% commission alone is $2.25 per sale.

Each mistake below either loses taps or hides where your visits came from. The big ones are too many buttons, links without UTM tags, mixed-case tags and broken buttons. Unlabeled paid links and old prices round out the list. Most take minutes to fix.

  • Too many buttons. Put the one action you want most at the top.
  • No UTM tags, so all bio visits look the same in GA4.
  • Mixed-case tags such as Instagram and instagram, which split your reports.
  • Broken or redirected buttons. Check each one returns 200 with our free HTTP status checker.
  • Paid or affiliate links with no label next to them.
  • Old price lists. One guide we checked still shows 2025 Linktree prices, so check the vendor page.

Posting time matters too, because a link page gets no taps if nobody sees the post. See our guide to the best time to post on Facebook.

Frequently asked

Is Linktree free for business?

Yes. Linktree has a $0 plan that its pricing page marks "Free with restrictions," as of October 2026. Free shows 28 days of Insights; Starter, at $7 a month billed yearly, shows 90 days.

Can I use my own domain with Linktree?

No. Linktree's help center says it doesn't support custom domains on any plan. Paid plans can redirect your Linktree to a page you choose.

Which Linktree plan removes the Linktree logo?

Pro, at $14 a month billed yearly or $17 billed monthly, as of October 2026, per Linktree's pricing page.

Can I track Linktree clicks in Google Analytics?

Yes, if each link carries UTM tags. GA4 then shows visits by source in the Traffic acquisition report. Linktree's own Insights page also counts clicks on every plan.

Can Linktree make a QR code for my shop?

Yes. Its QR code help page says to choose Share, then My Linktree QR code, and download a PNG or SVG file. The code points to a unique URL, so it keeps working if you change your username.

Is Linktree safe for my business?

Linktree's community standards ban using it to scam visitors, such as linking to sites that collect personal information under false pretenses. They also limit some goods. You may advertise alcohol with a liquor license, but not sell it through Linktree's commerce links. Selling or advertising tobacco, e-cigarettes or weapons is not allowed.

Can Linktree replace my website?

Linktree's pricing page FAQ pitches it as a website replacement. But its help center says every page stays on linktr.ee, with no custom domain. Our take: a page on your own domain is the safer base, because that address stays yours.

Do I need Linktree if I have a website?

Usually not. A /links page on your own site does the same job, keeps your domain and costs nothing extra.

Your next step

Today, write down the 4 to 6 links your customers ask for most. Put the one that earns money first. If brands ask about sponsorships, add a button to your media kit for sponsors, dated and kept current.

If you want that page on your own domain, our web development team can build it with tracking, and you get a fixed quote first.

How we made this guide: it's built from Linktree's pricing page and help center, plus Instagram's help center. We also used Google Analytics help, the Beacons and Carrd pricing pages, and FTC and FCC pages for the law parts. We took the Linktree pricing screenshot and built the example link in our own UTM builder on October 22, 2026. We checked every price and number against its source the same day, and each source is linked inline. Updated October 23, 2026: added what the free plan leaves out, Linktree's own analytics, more than one Linktree and payout fees. We also added FAQs on QR codes, safety and replacing a website.

First published April 2025. Rewritten October 22, 2026: fully new text, current US Linktree prices, tracking with UTM tags, the own-website option, a comparison and US rules. Updated October 25, 2026: we added short answers under the question headings, sources on the key facts and a labeled comparison table.
