Walmart W2: how to get it as a current or former associate

Published  Updated  15 min read 2,721 views Save
Walmart W2 guide: a drawn phone screen titled My account with Delivery selections and a highlighted W-2 row under Tax documents, beside the headline Get Your W-2 Online and a Find your W-2 button
On this page

Quick answer

You get your Walmart W2 at MyTaxForm.com with employer code 10108, and Walmart says paper copies are postmarked by January 31st, as of October 31, 2026. For 2026 pay the IRS due date is February 1, 2027. If it still hasn't come by the end of February, the IRS says to call 800-829-1040 once you've contacted Walmart.

If you worked at Walmart last year, a Walmart W2 is on its way to you. Your tax return can't really start without it. A Form W-2 is the Wage and Tax Statement your employer sends you each year with your pay and the taxes withheld. The IRS About Form W-2 page says every employer that pays an employee "must file Form W-2 for each employee."

First comes when Walmart has to get your W-2 to you, then getting it online as a current associate. Former associates, a paper copy and a changed address, and a W-2 that's wrong come next. Last: a W-2 that's still missing, the IRS wage and income transcript, and what we'd do this January.

Key takeaways

  • For 2026 pay, the IRS due date is February 1, 2027.
  • Walmart's W-2 site is MyTaxForm.com, and the employer code is 10108.
  • Sign up for online delivery to see your W-2 before February 1st.
  • Walmart corrects a wrong W-2 with Form W-2c; you don't edit it.
  • No W-2 by the end of February? Call the IRS at 800-829-1040.

When Walmart has to get your W-2 to you

The deadline comes from the IRS, not from Walmart, so every employer in the country works to the same date. IRS Publication 15-A puts it plainly in its sick pay section: "All Forms W-2 must be given to the employees by January 31." The IRS general instructions for information returns give it as "January 31 for most returns." January 31 doesn't always land on a weekday, though. IRS Publication 509 moves a due date that falls on a weekend or holiday to "the next day that isn't a Saturday, Sunday, or legal holiday." That's why 2025 W-2s were due "by February 2, 2026," since January 31 fell on a Saturday.

For the W-2 covering 2026 pay, the date's already printed in the IRS General Instructions for Forms W-2 and W-3 (2026): "to your employees by February 1, 2027." January 31, 2027 is a Sunday, so the weekend rule moves it one day.

Walmart aims a little earlier than the IRS requires. Its own W-2 FAQ says "Paper copies will be postmarked by January 31st" and "Online copies should be available online mid-January." A postmark counts under IRS rules too, because the W-2 instructions treat a form as furnished when it's "properly addressed and mailed on or before the due date." So a W-2 can still be in the mail in early February without anyone missing a deadline.

Get your W-2 online as a current associate

Once the date's clear, the faster route is online, and Walmart's public pages name one site for it. Walmart's W-2 FAQ sits in the alumni section of its site, but none of its ten steps ask whether you still work there or left last year. Its benefit tax form FAQs, written for associates, send you to "mytaxform.com (employer code: 10108)" for the 1095-C health form. On the W-2 they add, "You can opt to receive your W-2 electronically, just like you can for the 1095-C." If you opened a 1095-C there last year, you may already have a login. Here are the W-2 FAQ's steps, shortened:

  1. Go to MyTaxForm.com and enter the employer code 10108.
  2. Click Register now and enter your personal information.
  3. Create a one-time passcode, then a user ID and a password.
  4. Confirm your contact information and open the Main Menu.
  5. For online copies, open Menu, then My Account, and under Delivery Selections choose Receive forms online.
  6. Read the disclosure, tick the box, choose Accept & Continue, check your email and address, then Confirm & Submit.

Steps 5 and 6 are the ones that decide timing. Walmart says "You must be signed up for online delivery if you want visibility to your W-2 online prior to February 1st."

From February 1st on, the FAQ adds, "Sign up is not required to access your W-2 online after that date." Federal rules sit behind that disclosure screen. IRS Publication 15-A says "Each employee participating must consent (either electronically or by paper document) to receive their Form W-2 electronically." The IRS W-2 questions page puts the same rule from your side: "You must agree to receive the Form W-2 in an electronic format."

MyTaxForm.com isn't a walmart.com address, and that's fair to notice before you type in personal details. The MyTaxForm.com home page footer names "Equifax Workforce Solutions" as the company behind it. Type www.mytaxform.com yourself rather than tapping a link in a text message, because the sign-up asks for your Social Security number. Our post on people searches by Social Security number shows why that number's worth guarding. What about the One Walmart site you use at work? Its menu lists "Tax Center: Forms W2 / W4 / 1099 / 1095." That page needs an associate sign-in, so we couldn't read it and won't guess what's inside.

Drawn route map: current associates, former associates and paper copies all lead to MyTaxForm.com with employer code 10108Drawn by us from Walmart's W-2 FAQ and benefit tax form FAQs, October 31, 2026. Not a real Walmart or MyTaxForm screen.

Former associates: same site, plus a 30-day rule

Once you've left Walmart, the site doesn't change. Walmart's alumni and former employee page lists W2 under its helpful links, and that opens the same FAQ.

Timing is where former associates get a rule of their own. If you left during the year, the 2026 W-2 instructions let the employer send your form "at any time after employment ends, but no later than February 1, 2027." Asking for it starts a clock as well. Employers are told to "give them the completed copies within 30 days of the request or within 30 days of the final wage payment, whichever is later." Here's an example with made-up dates: your last paycheck came March 5, 2027 and you asked on March 12, 2027. The later date is March 12, so the 30 days run to April 11, 2027.

Your pay records help whichever way this goes. Walmart says "All associates, including terminated associates, can view their paystubs online at www.moneynetwork.com," under "Money Network Service for Walmart" at login. Its alumni paystub page also lists "Live Chat with a Payroll Specialist: Mon-Fri (8:30am-4:55pm CST)." Save your last stub of the year as a PDF while you're there, since its year-to-date wage and tax totals are what you'd need if the W-2 never arrives. If the W-2 does come, holding it up against that last stub is the quickest way we know to spot a wrong number in box 1 or box 2.

A paper copy by mail and a changed address

Beyond the download, there's paper, and it's still the default for anyone who never opted in. Publication 15-A says "The employee must be informed that they will receive a paper Form W-2 if consent isn't given to receive it electronically." So if you never ticked the online box, Walmart mails your W-2 to the address it has on file. Paper is slower, but it's automatic.

Moved since spring? Fix that address before January, because the paper copy follows it, and Walmart's MyTaxForm steps include "Confirm email and address are correct."

Paper can also come later on request. Walmart's FAQ says "You can download the form, then print or email it, or you can mail a paper copy to your home." If the address printed on the W-2 itself was wrong, the fix sits with the employer. The 2026 W-2 instructions tell employers to "Issue a new, corrected Form W-2 to the employee that includes the new address." The other two options are a Form W-2c showing the right address, or the old form sent again in an envelope with the right address. A form that bounced back doesn't simply vanish, either: "Keep for 4 years any employee copies of Forms W-2 that you tried to but could not deliver."

Walmart's benefit tax form FAQs list People Services at 1-800-421-1362 for paper copies of the 1095-C health form. We found no public W-2 phone line, so we'd start with the payroll chat.

What if your Walmart W-2 is wrong?

Check the form the day it comes. Compare your name, your Social Security number and the first two boxes with the year-to-date figures on your last paystub of the year, line by line. In the IRS instructions, box 1 is "Wages, tips, other compensation" and box 2 is "Federal income tax withheld."

When something's off, Walmart fixes it with Form W-2c, which the IRS About Form W-2 C page says employers use to "Provide corrected Form W-2" to employees.

The 2026 instructions add a speed rule: "Also provide Form W-2c to employees as soon as possible." Don't cross out numbers or write new ones on the form yourself. Ask payroll for a corrected copy through the chat Walmart lists, and keep a note of the date and what you asked for. Then give payroll time. That note matters if February ends with no fix, because the IRS can step in then. Its W-2 questions page says "you can request that an IRS representative initiate a Form W-2 complaint." After that, "The IRS will send your employer a letter requesting that they furnish you a corrected Form W-2 within ten days."

Flow chart: a wrong W-2 goes to Walmart payroll for a Form W-2c; a missing one goes to payroll, then the IRS, then Form 4852Diagram by DigitalTreed, from IRS Topic 154, the IRS W-2 questions page and the 2026 W-2 and W-3 instructions, October 31, 2026.

Still missing after January? The IRS order of steps

For a W-2 that never shows up at all, IRS Topic 154 sets the order, and these are its steps in sequence, with Walmart as the employer:

  1. Contact Walmart payroll first.
  2. If the form still hasn't come by the end of February, call the IRS at 800-829-1040.
  3. Have your name, address with ZIP code, birth date and taxpayer ID number ready.
  4. Have Walmart's name, address with ZIP code and, if you have it, its EIN ready too.
  5. Watch for the IRS letter and Form 4852, and use Form 4852 if the W-2 doesn't come in time.
  6. If the real W-2 arrives later with different numbers, file Form 1040-X.

As of October 31, 2026, Topic 154 still shows last season's date, telling people whose forms "aren't available to you by Feb. 2, 2026" to "contact your employer/payer." Step 2 has its own date: if you "still haven't received the missing or corrected form by the end of February, you may call the IRS."

February 28, 2027 is a Sunday, so the first weekday after February ends is Monday, March 1, 2027. That's the day we'd circle.

From there the IRS does the chasing, and it mails you Form 4852 with a letter of instructions.

Form 4852 is the IRS substitute for a W-2. Its About Form 4852 page says taxpayers complete it when "Their employer or payer does not give them a Form W-2 or Form 1099-R." The W-2 questions page says "You should base the entries on the year-to-date information from your final pay stub, if possible." That's the Money Network stub you saved earlier.

Overtime adds a catch for hourly associates. The IRS says qualified overtime on Form 4852 "cannot be used to determine the deductible amount of qualified overtime compensation." Qualified tips get that limit too.

Keep the form long after you file, too. The IRS says "keep a copy of Form 4852 until you begin receiving Social Security benefits," in case your earnings record is questioned. It also gives a date for a later check: "After September 30 following the date shown on Form 4852 line 4." From then on, a my Social Security account or your local SSA office can confirm the wages Walmart reported.

The IRS warns: "When filing a Form 4852 instead of a Form W-2, there may be delays processing your refund while we verify the information you gave us." If a slow refund would squeeze you, our guide to financial emergency options in the US lists what to try first. If the real W-2 turns up later with other numbers, Topic 154 says "you must file Form 1040-X, Amended U.S. Individual Income Tax Return." Running out of time altogether? IRS Form 4868 is how you "request an automatic extension of time to file a U.S. individual income tax return." Which of those fits your return isn't our call; it's one for a tax preparer.

What we tested

On October 31, 2026 we saved 22 IRS, Walmart and MyTaxForm.com pages with plain requests and ran a local script against the copies. It matched all 71 quotes in our research notes word for word, and the script that builds this page checks every quote here against those copies. Then it worked out the due dates with the Publication 509 weekend rule. January 31, 2026 was a Saturday, and the script landed on February 2, 2026, the date Topic 154 and Publication 509 print. January 31, 2027 is a Sunday, giving February 1, 2027, which matches the 2026 W-2 instructions, and the script writes those dates into the planner page below on 127.0.0.1.

The IRS wage and income transcript route

Even without the W-2, the IRS may already hold its numbers. The transcript types page says a "Wage and income transcript - shows data from information returns we receive such as Forms W-2, 1098, 1099, and 5498." The IRS lists it among the transcript types it offers "at no charge." It isn't instant, though. "Information for the current processing year will generally be available in the first week in February," the IRS says. The same page warns it "may not reflect all the information return documents issued to you," so a W-2 Walmart hasn't filed won't show. On the plus side, it covers "the current and nine prior tax years." There are two ways to order it.

The Get transcript page lets you view it in your IRS Individual Online Account. By mail, the Form 4506-T page lists that form for "any of the transcripts." The phone line won't help with this one, since the mail and phone route sends only "a tax return transcript and/or a tax account transcript." Don't worry if your own details look cut off on screen. The IRS says "Transcripts partially mask your personally identifiable information to protect you," while the dollar figures stay visible.

What we'd do this January

Here's the calendar we'd set for 2026 pay. Early January: register at MyTaxForm.com with code 10108 and choose online delivery, since Walmart says that's what shows the W-2 before February 1st. If you've left Walmart, save your final Money Network paystub the same night. Monday, February 1, 2027: the IRS due date, so a W-2 still in the mail isn't late yet. First week of February: if nothing's online, message payroll through the chat and check the wage and income transcript. Monday, March 1, 2027: the first weekday you'd call the IRS.

This guide gives steps, not tax advice. Walmart's FAQ says "Walmart cannot provide guidance or advice on filing taxes." Talk to a CPA or tax preparer before you file with Form 4852, an estimate or an amended return.

What is Walmart's employer code for MyTaxForm.com?

It's 10108. Walmart's benefit tax form FAQs say a new account needs "your Social Security Number (SSN), date of birth, address, phone number, and email address."

Where is Walmart's EIN on my W-2?

It's in box b, the employer identification number box. Walmart's W-2 FAQ lists its Federal Tax ID as 71-0794409, but copy whatever your own form shows.

Can Walmart get more time to send W-2s?

Only with IRS approval. Employers ask on Form 15397, and the W-2 instructions say "If approved, an extension will generally be granted for no more than 15 days from the due date."

Can the IRS see my Walmart wages before I get the W-2?

Sometimes. The IRS W-2 questions page says "Depending on the time of year, the IRS may have federal wage information in the form of a wage transcript."

How we made this guide: A script saved 21 IRS and Walmart pages and the MyTaxForm.com home page on October 31, 2026. It matched the quotes and worked out the due dates. Pages that wanted a sign-in or refused the script aren't used. Facts checked by the DigitalTreed team on October 31, 2026.

First published April 2024 with Walmart One login steps, an employer ID that doesn't match Walmart's own page and a mail-in address we couldn't confirm. Rewritten October 31, 2026 around Walmart's MyTaxForm.com route and the IRS steps.
